Dr. Edafe ODIOKO, FIAEA Head of Department, Marine Science Southern Delta University, Ozoro, Nigeria About Me I am a scholar and academic administrator with core expertise in Hydrobiology, Fisheries, Ecotoxicology, and Aquacultural Engineering. I hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Hydrobiology and Fisheries from the University of Port Harcourt, and a Ph.D. in Aquacultural Engineering from Akdeniz University, Turkey. My doctoral research focused on the impact of anthropogenic activities on aquatic macroinvertebrate distribution and water quality. I am a Fellow of the International Atomic Energy Agency, FIAEA. My work is committed to sustainable marine and freshwater resource management, environmental conservation, and training the next generation of marine scientists. Department Vision As Head of Department, I provide academic leadership to foster excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement within the Department of Marine Science. Our focus is on equipping students with practical skills in marine biology, fisheries management, hydrobiology, and aquaculture, while advancing research that addresses environmental challenges, coastal sustainability, and food security.
